Jet @ Brixton

Jet

Fancy coming all the way to London to see a good old Australian band. Well, that’s just what I did, but I did manage to introduce a non-Australian to Jet and I think she’s been converted.

We trekked out to Brixton to the Academy on Wednesday night to see the band. I was actually supposed to meet up with a mob of Australian’s but the timings/locations didn’t quite work out to Ivanka and I ended up dancing away to the band on our own, with about a million others in the venue. And a great venue it is too!

This is Ivanka’s photo. You can see more of them here. Mick was supposed to come along, but unfortunately he was busy in Italy.

What I love about Jet is that they’re the ultimate pastiche band. I’m not sure that’s how they describe themselves, but it’s kind of like a trivia night to try to pick which song they’ve ‘been inspired by’ when the next one on their playlist comes up :)

Sounds really good. I am interested to know how you got to the venue and how far it was from where you currently live. What is the public transport like. Pat

it’s not so hard to get to Brixton. There is a tube line that goes all the way there so really only about half an hour from where we were living in Highbury,

London public transport is excellent. Much better than the Londoners would have you think :)
